Top 10 Tips for Optimal Storing
- Disassemble tables and shelves so they can be stored on their sides. Wrap and mark all
pieces for easier re-assembly.
- Leave a center aisle in your unit for easy access to all your items.
- Store the items you'll need most often near the front of your unit.
- Label all boxes on several or all sides for easy locating.
- Protect mattresses and furniture with pads and covers.
- Use freestanding shelving to maximize your storage space.
- Keep refigerator and freezer doors slightly open and make sure they are clean before
storing. Use the spaces inside them for extra storage of small items.
- Store couches on end to maximize space. (Do not try this with a sofa-bed)
- Wrap all mirrors and pictures with paper pads, or use mirror boxes. Never attempt to store
your mirrors or pictures lying flat.
- Seal boxes with sturdy packing tape. To keep out dust, make sure boxes are completely sealed
shut. Pack each box snugly to prevent collapsing when stacking.
